Pairings: Donnie & Mikey / Mentions of Donnie & April (Don't like? Don't read!)
Summary: Donnie cheats on Mikey
Ages: Donnie - 22, Mikey - 21
Author Note: Turtles are not biologically related
It had been a month and a half since Casey broke up with April. A month and a half that Donnie spent glued to April’s hip. A month and a half of Mikey watching his relationship slip away without being able to do anything about it.
Mikey sighed and pulled the blanket up over his head. He didn’t even know why he bothered sharing a bed with Don anymore; it was becoming obvious he wasn’t wanted by the olive turtle. It seemed like Don only had eyes for their redheaded human friend now that she was available again. He wondered if the purple ninja would even notice if he stopped coming to bed by him – probably not.
The bed groaned under his mate’s weight as he sat down. Mikey didn’t bother greeting him; if he acknowledged Don, he’d just earn himself another earful about poor April. Poor, poor, poor April. Mikey scowled into the darkness.
Don laid down and repositioned himself until he was comfortable. Suddenly, the sickly scent of rose perfume filled Mikey’s nose. Rose perfume, sweat, as well as the residual smell of arousal. Mikey’s eyes widened and his heart clenched.
It finally happened. He'd prayed it wouldn’t. He’d foolishly trusted Don would stay faithful. Mikey ground his teeth together, his beak stinging and heart breaking. A wave of nausea flooded the betrayed turtle as he flung the blanket off of himself and grabbed his pillow.
Mikey stormed to the door and shouted, “You could have at least showered her scent off of you.”
Donnie sat up straight in bed, and stammered, “W-what are you talking about?”
“Don’t treat me like I’m stupid. I know I’m not the only one,” Mikey snarled and opened the door.
“Listen it’s not what you think!” The guilty looking olive turtle scrambled out of bed and stumbled towards the sea green mutant, arms outstretched as if that would make it seem like he cared about the pain he inflicted.
“We’re done,” Mikey stated through clenched teeth and cut through the air with his hand.
Don blinked at him in shock and watched as Mikey slammed the door. Mikey stood on the other side of the door for a second and sighed shakily. He clenched his eyes closed to prevent the tears from falling before he was alone. The sea green turtle ran to his old bedroom and after locking the door, flopped down on the bed, finally letting the tears fall.
Donnie must have thought he was so stupid, playing him so easily. The broken-hearted turtle hid his face with his hands and cried harder. The pain in his heart was making it hard to breathe and he couldn't stop gasping between sobs.
Don was right. He was stupid.
He was stupid to think Donnie loved him. Stupid to believe he’d stay true to him even when their friend became single. Stupid to not break up the first time he realized he wasn’t the only one.
Mikey wouldn’t be stupid anymore.
I don't know why I wrote this...I've been writing so many happy/loving Donnie and Mikey stories so your guess is as good as mine as to why this happened
